Vikter Duplaix - DJ KicksVikter Duplaix’s popularity has never been greater than now and this “universal sound” collection showcases his varied musical tastes beautifully. As a producer, songwriter and remixer, Duplaix has significantly attributed to the musical “Philadelphia Phenomenon”. Try having a conversation about progressive soul without mentioning Jill Scott, Jaguar Wright, Musiq Soulchild, The Roots or Bilal and you’d be hard pressed.

Unlike most DJs, Duplaix isn’t all that interested in blending tunes with similar tempos to achieve a continuous dance mix. The tracks on DJ Kicks range from house (of all varieties), jazz, jungle, hip hop and even a live cut from Erykah Badu. This is guaranteed to snatch music lovers out of a rut.

Highlights: “Hold It Down” (4Hero); “Tree Of Life” (Osunlade); “Sensuality” (Vikter Duplaix); “How Do I Move” (Spacek)

Recipe = Progessive House (circa Lil’ Louis) + Goldie + world travel - fear of experimentation.
