Check my music stats over at (the-newly super-designed albeit somewhat bloated) last.fm. Seems I’ve been bangin’ the shit out of Joi all year (figuratively, of course). Her latest joint, Tennessee Slim Is The Bomb, keeps calling me.
Tonight she kicks off her tour at Atlanta’s MJQ, or rather, "a little something to dust the cobwebs off before i hit the road in a couple of weeks".
You’ve read my Joi accolades on this site and by other music folk hip to the underground soul/funk/rock scene. She’s soulful, loud, unpredictable and sometimes on some strange shit. But she’s never boring. I haven’t seen the details of the cities she plans to hit but I’d check up on that if I were you. It certainly beats watching Rhianna lip-syncing to a DAT or whatever you radio slaves call music these days.
In the words of the Dirty Debutante, expect a show "raw and uncut, as ususal. be there or be super fucking square."
