For Those Who Like To Get Down
Tortured Soul @ MJQby j. brotherlove
Loverboy and I tried to make up for yesterday’s non-outing by arriving at MJQ at 11:30 for Tortured Soul.
Much like at the Peven Everett set, the usual suspects were in attendance; that being - a little bit of everything. I like that. We downed a couple of cocktails and got into the DJ set of breakbeat, house and disco. I’d forgotten how good the tribal remix of Crystal Waters’ “Gypsy Woman” sounds.
The good news: Tortured Soul are the real deal, bringing energy and foot-stomping house music to those who appreciate real music. If you’ve never heard house music played live, you have no idea how euphoric the experience can be (without drugs).
The bad news: By the time the band took the stage, Loverboy and I were a bit weary. Gone are the days when I can spend five hours at a party. Two hours is pretty much my limit and I prefer for those hours to be during the climax of the event.
I’ll get it together.
this is some of the wierdest shit ever.. you could just get lost in here, reading all this nonsense. so much time seems devoted to this site. i really don’t know what the pupose is.. do you travel and write your experiences down. you’re kinda like a jack k. type fella, huh?
