7 Things You Should Know About Peven Everett

Keeping you in the loop

by j. brotherlove

Peven EverettA holiday weekend presents many competing options for entertainment. This past Memorial Day was no exception in Atlanta.

However, in a live smackdown between Frankie Knuckles, a man who plays really great music and Peven Everett, a man who creates really great music, there’s no contest for the brotherlove.

Never heard of Peven Everett? Here are seven things you should know about Peven:

  • Peven is a musician’s musician who blurs the line between jazz, soul and house music.
  • You must dance at his concert; this is non-negotiable.
  • In the past year alone, Peven has created over five albums including Power Soul, Reflections Of Misconception and Naked Realness.
  • Peven’s fans are a little bit… obsessive.
  • Among other things, Peven wants to know “What do the people want in an artist or star today?”
  • In concert, Peven will perform some songs you don’t know but will love notheless. He will also play songs you do know but not in the way you recognize.
  • Many of Peven’s releases can be bought online.

… you KNOW how I feel about this one :) and I agree with all bullets. Did you manage to take any pics?

I wish I had taken pics. But I was too busy dancing!

Besides, when I tried taking pics at the Alice Rusell concert last week, I just couldn’t get a good (bright enough) shot. Clearly, I need some basic photography lessons for shooting in dark situations.

I haven’t heard of Peven Everett. Based on what I just heard on his MySpace page, I think there’s a new artist I like.

Thanks for sharing.

i’m stuck on peven. i have like 5 of his 12 inches. they are all definite throw down crowd pleasers.
