Last night, I started my pride weekend at Bulldog’s. Although there were plenty of men (and some women) inside, there was something lacking. I didn’t beam up until Ex Lover arrived with his best friend. We danced and hung out with each other for awhile and that was nice. He and I didn’t go out as a couple very much. So this dynamic is new for us.
Today, I spent a few hours at Piedmont Park, checking out the booths and the crowd. I’m not a big “booth person” at conventions or whatever. I realize how important vendors are to events. But, it’s rare that I see anything I haven’t seen already. There were the usual booth combinations of trinkets, crafts, radio stations, activists, religious organizations, and food, food, food. Lil Mo joined me for the last 30 minutes of my outing. Then, I drove to the Townhouse to hang with Ex Lover. We watched A Simple Plan and fell asleep until 10:00.
We awoke anxious to get out into the city. First, it was a quick stop at Red Chair for a drink where I was seriously digging some Kylie and Dirty Vegas. Next, we drove over to Apres Diem and had a turkey burger (him) and lox and cream (me).
Still feeling somewhat energetic, we left the restaurant and went to Bulldog’s which proved to be a bad idea. Almost as soon as we ordered our drinks we realized we didn’t have enough energy or desire to be there. These things happen.
We gulped down our drinks and walked over to Haze, a new lounge trying to compete for the attention of the growing midtown population. Haze is a cement floor with no designated dance area, two steel bars, some overstuffed sofas and good music. A great bar is more than a sum of its parts; there’s still some work to be done at Haze.
After our assessment, we high-tailed it back to the Townhouse and called it a night.

Amanda, I agree… Atlanta blogs & journals are are not as common as say, the east or west coast. Believe it or not, I’ve been to your site before but, never made note of the URL. Thanks for reminding me and Welcome!
