I guess I should’ve announced my recent blog vacation; except, I’m not really on vacation. Blame my absence on the crazy season and personal things getting in the way of me expressing myself on this site.

I had a relaxing Christmas Day thanksforasking. Nothing to report on the gift tip. Longtime visitors may remember my steelo when it comes to that. Besides, Loverboy and I are going to New Orleans next week for New Year’s Eve. That’s a big enough gift.

Three people called to wish me a happy day: a coworker, Wood and ex-blogging Kathleen (who will be breezing through Atlanta soon). I spent the entire day at my midtown summer home. Loverboy and I cooked for ourselves (we’re not seasoned enough to cook for others yet) and chilled. I wasn’t feeling 100% brotherlovely so lounging was about all I could muster.

Wood and JB stopped through in the evening and we played cards, ate some more, gossiped, drank and watched Madea’s Family Reunion. Not really my cup of tea, Tyler Perry plays, but it wasn’t bad and I did get a thrill out of hearing my old favorite, D’Atra Hicks, belt out some tunes.

On another note, it’s a joke ass day to be at work.
