I am so ready to go home. I’m debating if I want to be lazy tonight or paint the town. I’m leaning toward lazy.
The NBAF and Groovement is presenting a “Progressive Soul” concert in the Clark Atlanta University Quad, tonight from 6-10, fearturing Mel Johnson, Jjason Blackwell, Seek (love them), Fertile Ground (love them, too) & Donnie (When is this man’s CD coming out?) - all great acts, if you’ve never seen them. Then there’s O.A.S.I.S. at MJQ tonight at 11. I haven’t been in awhile and they’re hosting The Digital DJ’s (they make those cool, nu soul mix CD’s that I would make if I had a mixer). Of course, there’s alway’s Halo (which celebrates its anniversary, next week) and Bulldogs.
Donnie is a pal to know. He’s great, even if he always looks like he just finished filming scenes for ‘Good Times’. Please let us know if he happens to release a CD.
damn. are we all getting old or what? i was pondering the go out or stay home thing and stay home was winning for me too. is this a sign of things to come?
I remember Donnie from my extended *cough* undergraduate days at GSU. He used to walk around rockin’ the 70s fro, the patchwork leather jackets, and flared jeans light years before the rest of the world had a clue. He always had a mega-watt smile and a positive air for everyone, even for his detractors. If anyone deserves success, it’s Donnie.
How was the show, BTW?
was just talking about fertile ground this weekend…met up with a friend in cleveland who went to college with navasha. how was the show?
oops…forget it. just read your next entry. :^)
Cecily: You may (not) be surprised to know that Donnie still “walk(s) around rockin’ the 70s fro, the patchwork leather jackets, and flared jeans.” BTW, I thought you were back online. No fair, teasing (Hope you’re enjoying the break).
Lisa: You don’t miss a beat when it comes to great music, do you?
