Back Into The Groove

Yeah, yeah. So I took a couple of extra days off. Shoot me.

It seems like forever since I submitted to any sort of routine and for some reason, it’s tricky getting back into the groove. I was off work for a number of days and on vacation with Loverboy in New Orleans for New Years Eve. I did very little websurfing in the past two weeks and even left the laptop at home when I went to NOLA.

NOLA. What can I say? The French Quarter is a drunk man’s Disneyland and everybody’s got a hustle: bars, tap dancers, jewelry makers, antique shops, bars, strippers, restaurants, souvenir shops, bars, hustlers, puppeteers, sketch artists, bars… You can’t go more than six feet without another opportunity to contribute to someone else’s bottom line and your own debauchery.

Loverboy and I didn’t fall for it. Mostly, we spent the time ensconced in our heavenly featherbed at The Ritz, watching television, sleeping, and stuff. Don’t get me wrong, we got out, saw the sights, visited some bars, ate brunch at a cute spot where we spotted the spectacular Lynn Whitfield, and attended a fabulous New Year’s Eve party on the rooftop suite of The Ritz with a backdrop of fireworks on the Mississippi River. Despite all of that, I completely understand why Wood says he can’t stay longer than two days in New Orleans. More on that, perhaps. Depending on how inflammatory I feel later.

And can someone tell me why I go out of town and get hooked on the awful show known as That’s So Raven? It happened in Puerto Rico and it happened in New Orleans. WTF?

Let’s see…

Oh. I have a few posts in draft that I’m completely over but you may still enjoy. I may free those up in a minute. I’ve done some tinkering behind the scenes on this site, too. Most of you won’t even notice. But those who do will get a thrill. Well, maybe “thrill” is too strong of a word.

And since all I’m really doing is playing catchup with this post…

Rabbit Rabbit.

Curse the tibbar! And what’s a New Year’s Eve party without some fireworks?
