Links For A Spring Tuesday

No rest for the wicked on this end. However, a break to share some links sounds like a good idea to me. Forgive me if I’m slow returning email. I’ve been shutting down my client for long stretches to focus on work. It helps productivity but it doesn’t stop the emails from coming. Most of my communication is happening on Twitter.
Now, about those links…
- Ramone of About.com digs Macy Gray’s Big as much as I do. He has a brief interview with Macy Gray on her inspiration (gay clubs), her difficulty staying on a movie set, and her new album (which you should be listening to, right now).
- I have to say I love my Skype. It’s a cheap alternative to have a massive phone bill every month. I don’t use Skype’s chat function much. And now I probably won’t since assholes have created a Trojan horse targeting Skype users.
- Atlanta’s metro center is changing rapidly from a vibrant and gay friendly walkabout to a sea of towering loft spaces (goodbye personality). Chris offers his well-informed opinions on the decline of midtown nightlife and the gay community
- The movie Boy Culture is getting a lot of buzz these days. Despite a resume of gay roles (most famously playing Noah on the axed Noah’s Arc) and a documented nightlife, actor Darryl Stephens is still avoiding the sexuality question. I’m all about personal freedom to divulge whatever you want about your life. But this is getting silly.
- Bernie continues his series examining black, gay men in their late 30’s and up with The Search for Community. The fellas share how they socialize (and with whom) and in what ways they feel connected to a gay “community” (or not).
LMAO @ Darryl, but I wish him success.
you know what’s really silly?
that people think he has to live by their rules…that’s what’s really silly.
do you see the het’s going around all the time talking about how heterosexual they are? what the hell does it have to do with him being an actor?
the “community” really needs to get over it.
you want to label yourself go right ahead.
but who are you to expect someone else to do so also?
I must still be the only one who does not see what all the hoopla is about Darryl, but, boo ain’t fooling no one, but himself, and only he and his man know for sure.
But, much success to him, the gay gigs are paying him enough coins to keep a roof over his head.
